These stunning moths are found in cool climates in North America and Europe. Their beautiful wing patterns are a form of aposomatic coloration intended to deter predators from consuming them - thankfully, as they contain poisonous body fluids! Though they are generalists and feed on a variety of plants, most of their larvae obtain their toxins from their diet (foxglove and other daisy relatives).
