Hyloxalus azureiventris (Sky-blue poison dart frog) is endemic to Peru where it is found primarily in lowland tropical rainforests and inland wetlands. Dart frogs are well known for their aposematic patterns - warning colors used to signal predators of their non-palatability. Of the more than 170 species of dart frog, many are endangered or facing decline due to habitat destruction, stressors due to climate change, collection for the pet trade, and spread of the chytrid fungus which is lethal to amphibians. A portion of the proceeds of this piece will support the Amazon Watch which is committed to preserving Amazon habitat and advancing indigenous-led solutions to conservation.
This piece is displayed in a hand built solid wood frame. Glazing is museum quality anti-glare and UV-resistant glass.
Please note: The shipping is set at $50 and is an estimate. If additional shipping fees are required, they will be billed separately.
