Antilocapra americana (Pronghorn) - 12"x16"
Pronghorn (Antilocapra americana) are hoofed, grazing mammals found throughout interior Western and Central North America. While colloquially referred to as “pronghorn antelope” they are actually more closely related to giraffe and okapi! These beautiful animals were hunted to near extinction by the 1920s. Thanks to the efforts of pronghorn enthusiasts at the Boone and Crockett Club, President Hoover, and President Roosevelt, a 220,000 hectare preserve was created for the pronghorn in Nevada. Most recent estimates put their population between 500,000 and 1,000,000.
This piece is displayed in a hand built solid wood frame. Glazing is museum quality anti-glare and UV-resistant glass.
Please note: The shipping is set at $50 and is an estimate. If additional shipping fees are required, they will be billed separately.
