The beautiful Wonder Lake sits in the shadow of North America’s highest peak: Denali. Wonder Lake is situated at mile 85 along the Denali Park Road and serves up some of the best views of the Alaska Range on a clear day. The lake was excavated by the Muldrow Glacier approximately 14,000 years ago! It is approximately 2.6 miles long and 280 feet deep and sits approximately 26 miles from the base of Denali.
Should you make it for a visit, beware the mosquitoes! Bring a bucket for blueberries and low bush cranberries, and keep your eyes peeled for bears, moose, beaver and an abundance of waterfowl!
